LPW - Elgin, 11J, 8S, heavy 14K gold box hinge drum style original HC with very attractive engraving detail including a buck to rear, perched birds with outstretched wings to front and rear, front with initials, gold cuvette, white enamel SS dial, SW-LS, gilt mvt, s#1359529. Gross weight of assembled watch 49.5 dwt (77.0 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: Ticking sluggishly, overhaul recommended, main plate with some micro-fine scratches and mild haze, haze spot to visible portion of barrel; visible portion of dial with near complete loss of seconds-register markings, small chip above seconds-register, scattered hls; excellent hands; case shows little wear, dent to front right of center at lower portion of engraved "R" initial, small ding at upper perimeter of rear, good overall primary engraving detail though with ample loss of finely engraved detail in background areas; tight bow, gold-filled crown shows light to medium wear with wear to brass throughout high points; plastic crystal is poorly fitted and lifting along one side.
